Spring Styles @Loft 🌸

Well first off let me start by saying Happy International Women’s Day again. I spent the day shopping with my best friend. When we talk about women supporting women this girl right here has always been my biggest supporter, she is more than a best friend she is my sister. We have always prided ourselves in supporting others, especially other women.

So when I was asked to work with The Loft in celebration of International Women’s Day, Amy was the first person I called. Not only because she would be excited for me but because I love sharing my successes and opportunities with her. In addition we both love to SHOP.

I want to share just a couple of the amazing outfits Amy and I picked up. We had the opportunity to wear them this weekend at the wineries in Temecula 🍷

Both of us are suckers for jumpsuits because they are so cute and simple. Just throw on a cute jacket and you are ready to go!

Stepping into Fall 🍁

Fall is my favorite season! I love everything about it. I love the cool weather, changing colors of the leaves, everything pumpkin spice, and of course fall fashion.

Living in Southern California means it doesn’t get too cold, mostly we get chilly. So when you get a chilly day here you quickly hop into your fall wardrobe. For me that’s my boots. Maybe it’s because I am originally from Oklahoma and have a love for boots. Who knows but they are my favorite part. Well and scarves but that’s a whole separate post in itself.

Today I would like to share with you my favorite boots for this fall. I may or may not have bought them in all colors available. What can I say, I like to have options lol.

Wine 🍷 Wednesday

Visiting wineries has become a favorite pastime for Garett and I ever since we thought we wanted to get married at a winery. Keep in mind the only reason we didn’t is because the date of the wedding was more important than the venue. We decided to get married on my mothers birthday which is in February. Vines are pretty much bare in February therefore my wedding photo background would have been of barren vines. That was a deal breaker for me.

However we visited many wineries in Temecula California. Every winery came with several wine tastings so we were able to narrow it down to our favorites. We live pretty close to Temecula therefore we can go on the weekends. Again this is more quality time for us.

Recently we visited Callaway Winery, which we are members of. They have great wines and the best views. If you are ever in the area I highly suggest stopping by the wineries. You can just grab a glass or get tasting tickets and try several flavors. Most have live bands and entertainment on the weekends.

Coffee Time

So today’s post is going to be geared a little more towards lifestyle. Garett and I have a thing called “coffee time” it’s just one of our many little rituals. We both think it is important to carve out quality time as much as we can. We are both active duty Marines so our days are pretty busy. We actually created “coffee time” when we were dating. It’s pretty simple, whoever gets home first starts a pot of coffee so it’s ready by time the other gets home. After we shower, prep meals for the next day, and eat dinner we grab a cup of coffee. Depending on the weather we love to take the coffee outside on the back patio. We either leave our phones inside or turn them face down. We just simply talk about our day without any interruptions. Well maybe there are interruptions because Louie wants attention lol.

Love fall because we pull out all the flannels.

Don’t forget the pumpkin 🎃 spice!

On the weekends we do it with a glass of wine, but the options are endless. Coffee, tea, wine, honestly you don’t need a beverage at all. It’s all about the time you carve out in your day with your loved one or even yourself if you are single.

When I was single I would do coffee time every night I got home. I used that time just to reflect on my day and clear my mind.

We all have pretty busy lives, just take the time to take care of you!!

Short Trip to San Francisco💕

So this past weekend we decided to spend our Labor Day weekend in San Francisco. The Yankees were playing so of course it was not hard to convince Garett😉

Last post I talked about packing a capsule wardrobe to lighten the load of what you pack. The purpose of a capsule wardrobe for me it to pack less but still have many options for outfits. My “packing palette” for this capsule was black, white, and blue. I also put out the disclaimer that I am in no way a pro at this yet, but well on my way. So I posted the picture of what I was taking minus the extra things I just felt I NEEDED to have. An extra cardigan, another pair of black yoga pants, and some plain t-shirts. I always pack 3 extra t-shirts in the colors of black, grey and white. See a trend? I don’t think you can go wrong with these colors as they match just about anything. Most of my basic items I actually like to spend a little extra on just to make sure they are quality and last longer. Now as for handbags, I definitely packed way too many. I packed 4 handbags for essentially a 2 day trip, lol. Lesson learned.

Day 1 Travel and Sightseeing….

I traveled in a pair of Lululemon leggings and a tank top, they are the most comfortable for me, and they breathe well and provide movement. We arrived at the hotel and quickly changed over so we could head out and see the city and grab a bite to eat. My first outfit was another pair of  leggings, cute top from Nordstrom and my jean jacket from Abercrombie, threw on my Chuck Taylors because they are always the most comfortable to stroll around the streets in. We went to Pier 39 and ate Boudin’s (amazing clam chowder in a bread bowl). Next we headed to grab coffee at Biscotti (my all-time favorite cookies). You get a cookie with your coffee, this is a must try if you haven’t already. Then we just walked around taking in the sights. Didn’t sign up in time for a tour of Alcatraz so the picture of it in the background will have to do until I go back. We then headed to Ghirardelli for ice-cream. It was way too cold and windy for ice-cream but you can’t be in San Fran and not try it, or at least that was my reasoning.

Day 2 Yankees Game

Headed to the Yankees game first thing, not enough time for breakfast because I overslept.  So my RXbar and coffee were exactly what I needed to start the day. My outfit was typical Yankees gear, I recycled a pair of the black yoga pants threw on my jersey, jean jacket, and hat then off we went. The game was interesting (for Garett) lol. I am trying to get into baseball, but to be quite honest I really only pay attention when Judge or Stanton are up, hehe.  After the game was over we headed out to catch some places on our to-see list before sunset. No time for an outfit change. First we went to see the Painted Ladies, which are the backdrop of Full House, gosh I loved that show. It was beautiful. Next we headed towards the Golden Gate Bridge. I really wish I could have gotten better pictures, but there was barely any sun and it was very windy.

Then we headed to dinner, outfit number two I wore white jeans, black t-shirt, and that extra cardigan I was talking about before. This was the best dinner I have had in a very long time. We went to the Crab House they are well known for their killer crab. Just promise me if you go to San Fran you will try this place. I give it 5+ stars for not only service but quality of food. We finished off the night with another coffee from Biscotti and then headed home for our early morning drive back home.

Yes this was a quick trip but it was so much fun. Garett and I love our little getaways no matter how quick they are. As for my capsule wardrobe, I definitely took too many handbags, I honestly only needed the mini backpack for the day and the Chanel WOC for night. I am excited because we have so many trips planned in the upcoming months. I hope you continue to follow along because I want to share all the fun places to go. Next up is Portland🤔 can’t wait to go never been. October we are headed to Texas, Oklahoma, Big Bear, and Virginia. November going to Las Vegas. December we are headed to Lake Tahoe for Christmas.

In addition my goal is to get Packing like a Pro down. So the capsule wardrobe will continue. I will be adding more fall colors also and playing with many different textures and prints. My fall Trunk club is on its way can’t wait to do a blog post on the items I receive
